AI & OCR
How Cardary AI and OCR features process prompts, card content, images, and outputs.Overview
Cardary includes optional AI and OCR workflows that help explain cards, draft new cards, recognize text, recognize questions, recognize formulas, and convert captured images into editable card content.
AI card explanation and AI card creation
When you use AI features, Cardary may send relevant card text, deck type, allowed card styles, deck context, user prompts, and conversation history for that feature to Firebase AI / Google Gemini. The model returns text or structured drafts that Cardary may parse into editable card fields.
OCR image processing
When you use OCR, Cardary uploads the selected or captured image to Cardary servers. The backend may send the image to third-party OCR providers:
- Aliyun OCR for text recognition, question recognition, and card recognition.
- Xfyun / iFlytek OCR for formula recognition.
Recognized text, formulas, and structured card fields are returned to the app for review and editing.
Accuracy and review
AI and OCR outputs may be wrong, incomplete, biased, offensive, misleading, or unsuitable for your purpose. You must review outputs before saving, studying, publishing, sharing, or relying on them. For academic, professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical use, verify results independently.
Content restrictions
Do not use AI or OCR features for unlawful content, content you do not have permission to process, confidential third-party information, sensitive personal data without appropriate rights, harassment, fraud, rights violations, or attempts to bypass safety, paid-feature, or platform controls.
Data minimization
Use the smallest prompt or image that reasonably supports the task. Crop images where possible, remove unrelated personal information, and avoid uploading sensitive documents unless you understand the risk.
Entitlements and limits
Some AI or OCR features may require CardaryPlus, may be subject to usage limits, may depend on network availability, and may change as providers, model versions, pricing, or platform rules change.
